Sakura Ren is a performing art group showcasing Japanese traditional dance called Awa-odori and its music. Founded in 2014, Sakura Ren has been performing at most of the major Japanese cultural events as well as at schools and local community organizations in the bay area. Sakura Ren is committed to promote and preserve the art form, and is passionate in teaching younger generations of dancers and musicians. While staying true to the traditional style, we keep bringing new and original ideas to Awa-odori. Many members of Sakura Ren are very active in performing art fields, and we all bring different ideas into Awa-odori to make it more interesting and exciting.

In November 2023, America Ren, a group of performers representing the various Awa Odori groups in the US, won a prestigious Best Performance Award at the 1st World Awa Odori Contest held in Tokushima. Several of our current and former musicians and dancers were part of the group.
